The Master in International Food & Beverage Management provides its students with an interesting challenge thanks to the Company Consultancy Project: a research study that deals with a real business problem proposed by leading companies of the F&B sector.

During the CCP, a key element of the course, teams are expected to apply creative approaches to solving complex business challenges. This gives Master in IFBM students the valuable opportunity to work at a professional level with a company in the food and beverage field.

From October to March, eight teams of Master in IFBM students worked on a project initiated by leading F&B brands, operating in different branches of the sector.

The CCP is designed to provide students with a collaborative learning experience and allow them to apply in a real-world situation the concepts and tools studied during the programme.

The CCP required significant commitment and focus from students. For them, it was a wonderfully practical way to improve their understanding of the F&B industry.

All the groups put enthusiasm and a great deal of effort into these projects, working days and sometimes nights, often having to manage stress and anxiety, but they were able to collaborate efficiently with their group to reach their goal. All of them felt part of the company they were involved with.

The participants did a terrific job; they were very proactive and gave the companies new and different points of view. The firms’ tutors and ESCP’s Professors Regina Brix, Isabella Maggioni, Francesca Pucciarelli and Francesco Venuti were delighted with the brilliant outcomes of the consultancy projects, which were every bit as good as those that a consultancy firm would offer.

The teams were:

Caffarel team: Pauline Moins, Simone Redaelli De Zinis, Victoire Toulin, Umberto Vella and Giacomo Vercelli.

Costa Crociere team: Paola De Luca, François Dischamp, Namita Kaur Hanspal, Alessandro Pisu and Benedetto Solari.

Costadoro team: Ines Depotter, Divya Dhirwani, Ted El Haddad, Luc Morin, and Luca Veschetti.

Mammapack team: Hermine Denoël, Jeanne Guenier, Josephine Joosten, Nahush Joshi, Rodolfo Sciolla and Devansh Shah.

Mercato Centrale team: Sebastian Alexander Demel, Liubov Komarova, Federica Mungo, Andrea Scucchia and Elena Waldergan.

Pasta Berruto team: Pietro Cattani, Marc Houllegatte, Sergio Sinopoli, Diane Toulemonde, and Celine Van Eeckhout.

Royal Swinkels Family Brewers team: Eric Belkhiria, Alberto Dotto, Irene Feri, Robert Lukaschek and Alice Rossi.

Vinhood team: Paul-Antoine Danjean, Christophe Maendly, Roberta Poccafassi, Luca Rodari and Tao Ziyu.

Who knows what excitements and challenges await students next year?

The new programme
Global Executive Ph.D.

ESCP Business School are now welcoming top-level executives into their community with the launch of their brand-new Executive Ph.D. program.

Worldwide, people and organizations are experiencing rapid changes in what they do, how they do it, and even why they do it. Increasing globalization, geopolitical shifts and new technologies demand new modes of working and talent with new and diverse set of skills.

A life-long Learning

The launch of the Global Executive Ph.D. program coincides with the necessities of life-long learning. Everyone must continuously learn new skills. Leaders of today are those who embrace continuous education and constantly increase their knowledge, skills, and competencies.

A different programme different

What makes our Global Executive Ph.D. different to other programs is the focus on the quality of research and our international focus. Prof. Pramuan Bunkanwanicha, Associate Dean for Research, “The Global Executive Ph.D. at ESCP Business School offers a unique opportunity to follow a world-class practitioner-oriented doctorate education in management. Our program is designed to prepare today’s executives to become tomorrow’s business thinkers.” ESCP, member of Sorbonne doctoral school, intends to build more bridges between the corporate world and Research and will educate high-level executives who want to combine their business expertise with academia. ESCP, which has more than 130 academic partnerships, will bring its international dimension in the EPh.D. program with invited world class faculty from Harvard, Wharton, Tsinghua etc.

A Bridge between Professionam Careers and Academic Ambitions

As well as being the steppingstone needed to bridge professional careers with academic ambitions, the Executive Ph.D. program also introduces those who study on the program to a global network of 60,000 strong ESCP Alumni. With 60% of ESCP students being international students, and 50% of their faculty being from other parts of the world, ESCP Business School not only values the academic and professional backgrounds of those on the Executive Ph.D. program, but they also value cultural diversity.

The highest Academic degree

Ultimately, the Executive Ph.D. program is one of the highest academic degree you can obtain from a top business school, and it is designed to develop those with forward thinking mindsets, and how to adapt their leadership skills within a challenging environment.

A Unique Opportunity

“Doing an EPh.D. is a unique opportunity to step back and adopt a big picture view. It is an academically rigorous program but compatible with the busy agendas of reflective leaders.” says Prof. Bertrand Moingeon, Executive Vice-President and Dean for Executive Education and Corporate Initiatives Dean of ESCP.

A World leading Expert

Michael Haenlein, The Executive PhD’s Associate Dean, “Following the path of an Executive Ph.D. is a unique opportunity to become a world leading expert on a question you are truly passionate about and to creating new knowledge of relevance for you and society at large.”

The MSc in Digital Transformation Management & Leadership (MDT) at ESCP Business School provides students with a solid understanding of the impact of digital transformation in the current technology-driven trends by providing an opportunity to learn and approach innovative technologies.

Participants develop a deep understanding of the business side of such frontier technologies as:

  • Artificial Intelligence
  • Big Data
  • Blockchain
  • Robotics
  • Social Media
  • Internet of Things

as well as the processes linked to these technologies, including automation, business analytics, project management and others.

The programme takes a non-traditional business education approach while maintaining academic rigour, and focuses on getting students as much practical experience in managing real-life digital transformation projects as possible.

For students from the 'Industry and Automation' specialisation track, the MDT offers a unique course on automation, robotics and flexible manufacturing technologies in partnership with Comau, a world-leading company in the field of industrial automation. It provides new ways to interact with technology and enhance human-machine collaboration. The session was delivered by:

The company also presented their exoskeleton, MATE - wearable ergonomic support that work in tandem with the user. Exoskeletons are placed on the user's body to reinforce or restore human performance in given tasks.

The learning did not stop there. Students also learnt about IoT, AI and analytics, as well as completing a supply chain business game simulation, with teams competing against each other.

ESCP launches the new Diversity and Inclusion project, which will strengthen the core values of the Business School. It is an important initiative by the ESCP Turin Campus, which will involve the entire staff. Administrators, Affiliate and Full Faculty Professors will go back to school to develop Diversity Management skills.

The Business School is truly international and every year welcomes students from all around the world. The project is an opportunity to deepen the understanding of multiculturalism and gender diversity, creating an open and inclusive environment.

Barilla and ESCP have more than a decade of fruitful collaboration. Because in recent years Barilla has become a symbol of excellence in the matter of diversity, the business school looked to the company for its expertise and experience when developing the training course.

The project includes a training day that will examine Cultural Diversity in 360 degrees. The course will be held at the Turin Campus and led by teachers Fernando Salvetti and Barbara Bertagni, from LogosNet.

The training, delivered over two different days in June and November 2020, includes three coaching modules. The first two, which will be attended by all participants, are Cultural and Gender Diversity and Intercultural Communication Techniques, while the third one will be divided into professors and employees. The professors will attend a course on Public Speaking in a multicultural setting while the module for the staff will examine Sales, Accounting, and Client Needs Analysis.

We need intercultural competences to work in a global context. Learning how to listen to, as well as interact effectively with, people from different cultures, values, norms, languages and traditions can only improve human and business relationships.
