Franck Bancel is a Professor of Finance at ESCP Business School.

Professor Bancel has published several books (« Créer de la valeur dans le football : comment évaluer les actifs des clubs », Revue Banque, 2019; « Le coût du capital : théories, mesures et pratiques », Revue Banque, 2014; « Flexibilité et choix des investissements », Economica, 2002; « La gouvernance des entreprises », Economica, 1997, etc.) and articles in academic journals such as Finance, Journal of Applied Corporate Finance, Financial Management, European Financial Management, Revue d’Économie Financière, Revue d’Économie Industrielle, etc.

Franck Bancel managed the ESCP Business School Specialized Master in Finance in Paris and the parallel programme at our sister school, ESA, in Beirut. He was Associate Dean for research from 2002 to 2006, Director of the ESCP Europe Ph.D. programme on the Paris Campus from 2003 to 2006, Director of the Labex Réfi from 2011 to 2013, and Academic Director of the BNP Paribas/ESCP Business School chair on « Financial innovations and transformations » from 2014 to 2018.

Professor Bancel is the Academic Director of the MS CFO. He is also a consultant for banks and companies. He was Vice President for Corporate Finance with BNP Paribas and has been involved in several M&A deals.

He holds a Doctorate from the University of Grenoble II and a post-doctoral degree (Habilitation à Diriger des Recherches) from the University of Paris IX Dauphine. His field of specialisation is Corporate Finance.
