About Jack Fuchs

Jack Fuchs is an investor, global entrepreneur, and lecturer. He holds an AB in Engineering Sciences with Honors from Dartmouth College magna cum laude and phi beta kappa, and received his MBA from Stanford University as an Arjay Miller Scholar.

His current roles include VC Operating Partner, Board representative, CFO, and advisor positions with med-tech, IT, and cleantech businesses. Jack is a Lecturer at Stanford University, and an Affiliate Professor with ESCP Europe.

Over the past 10 years, he has invested in and advised over 20 companies in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the US.

Prof. Dr. René Mauer

René Mauer holds the Chair for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at ESCP Business School, Berlin campus. He is the academic head of the Executive Master in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership (EMDIEL), and serves as the European Coordinator of ESCP's European Entrepreneurship Department, the Jean-Baptiste Say Institute of Entrepreneurship.  His area of expertise is entrepreneurial decision-making in venture and corporate contexts.

Jack Fuchs is an investor, global entrepreneur, and lecturer. His current roles include VC Operating Partner, Board representative, CFO, and advisor positions with med-tech, IT, and cleantech businesses.

Jack is an Operating Partner at Blackhorn Ventures and an Angel investor. Over the past 10 years, he has invested in and advised over 20 companies in Europe, Asia, Latin America, and the US.

His private company Board and Board Observer positions include:
  • Cytovale - image recognition and machine learning applied to sepsis diagnostics
  • Aperia Technologies – automatic tire inflation for truck tires with wireless predictive maintenance
  • Datch – front-end platform for speech input to ERP systems 
  • Focal Systems – AI and image recognition for automated checkout in supermarkets
  • Ceres Nanotechnologies – nanotechnology applied to diagnostics
  • Blackhorn Ventures – investment committee position with a leading industrial, energy and transportation venture capital firm

Jack is a Lecturer at Stanford University, an Affiliate Professor with ESCP Business School, and a contributor to Unternehmertum at the Technical University of Munich.  He mentors entrepreneurs and teaches around the world – his driving force.

At Stanford, his activities include:
  • Director of PEAK (Principled Entrepreneurship) developing research, curriculum, and outreach initiatives for Stanford’s Entrepreneurship Center
  • Developing a de novo course: Principled Entrepreneurial Decisions (ENGR148/248) providing students with frameworks, exercises, and case examples to help them develop their own values/principles framework for life and for their careers

Participants will be evaluated based on participation and completion of workshop tasks.

This course is a standard element of the Executive Master in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership. If you decide to join this programme, the course participation fee will be deducted from your tuition fees.

A certificate of completion will be awarded to participants who successfully complete the programme.
