Ulrich Pape is Professor of Finance at the Berlin Campus of ESCP Business School, where he has been a member of the faculty since 2002.
At ESCP Business School, Ulrich teaches a wide range of finance and valuation courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. He also plays an active role in the Executive MBA and other Executive Education programmes. In addition, Ulrich supports the development of young academics and is a regular contributor to the Berlin doctoral programme.
Ulrich’s research areas include corporate finance, financial management, corporate valuation, and value-based management. His research output includes numerous articles and books on these topics. In the German-speaking world, Ulrich's textbook is considered one of the standard introductions to corporate finance.
In addition to teaching and research, Ulrich is involved in programme development and coordination. As the local academic director of the Master in Management (MIM) programme in Berlin, he works with his colleagues from ESCP’s international campuses to ensure the strategic direction and ongoing development of the MIM programme. From 2003 to 2011, Ulrich served as the Vice Rector of the Berlin Campus.
Ulrich began his academic career in 1991 at the Technical University of Berlin, where he worked as a lecturer and assistant professor. He holds a Diplom-Kaufmann degree, a doctorate, and a Habilitation in Business Administration. Before entering academia, he gained professional experience at Deutsche Bank in Hamburg.
