First, executives already have experience and skills applicable to research, enabling a fast-track approach to organisation issues surrounding the research process (from reviewing the literature through to collecting and analysing data). Second, executives often have easier access to organisations for data collection, typically through their employers/organisations and professional contacts they have developed over the years. Third, academic research in the field of management — be it qualitative or quantitative — is inextricably linked to management practice. Thus, it is always a fulfilling experience to be able to transform empirical data into theory which could influence academic, practitioners, educators, and policymakers. Throughout the programme, GEPhD students get to not only complete their doctoral work, but to also publish in journals of academic or practitioner nature, such as Organizational Dynamics and Information Systems Practice Journal.
This masterclass will be followed by a presentation of the Global Executive Ph.D., a programme for senior executives seeking an intellectual challenge worthy of their professional experience.
ESCP Business School is ranked #4 in Europen (current Financial Times rankings).
The Global Executive Ph.D. programme is for senior executives seeking an intellectual challenge worthy of their professional experience.

"Towards a business model for IoT services: The success of a French SME"
(in English)
What are the odds for an unlisted SME, relying on open source, to become a major player in the IoT sector - thanks to its successful business model? The strength of Eridanis lies in its early understanding that the business model was not in the hardware or the data, but in the services they provide. Emmanuel Gavache, its founder and chairman, will explain how he used the power of IoT to open up new markets in local communities, health, and industry, and to make Eridanis the largest unlisted French company.
Moderation : Sandrine Macé et Violette Bouveret, Professors ESCP
