The new partnership will connect female students with mentors, professional networks, and career opportunities across the international space sector.

The space sector is shaped by some of the defining questions of our time, spanning technological innovation, economic development and geopolitics. Who gets to participate in shaping its future matters too.

ESCP School of Technology is taking a new step to widen those opportunities through a partnership with the Space Women Alliance (SWAN) , an international organisation working to advance gender equality and empower women across the space sector.

Announced at the International Space Summit in Paris on 9–10 September 2026, the partnership will create new connections between ESCP’s female students and an international community of professionals, mentors and employers working in space.

Connecting education with opportunity

As technology reshapes economies, organisations and careers, developing technical knowledge is only part of the challenge. Building a stronger technology ecosystem also means ensuring that a broader range of people have the opportunity, networks and confidence to contribute to it.

For Professor Cédric Denis-Rémis, Dean of ESCP School of Technology, the space sector provides a particularly powerful setting in which to make those connections.

“Educating the talent that will shape tomorrow’s technological transformations also means ensuring diversity among those who will take part in them,” he said.

“Space is a particularly compelling field in this respect: it brings together scientific, technological, economic and geopolitical challenges that fully align with the approach we aim to develop at ESCP School of Technology. Together with SWAN, we want to make this field more accessible to our female students, give them opportunities to meet role models and empower them to take their rightful place within the sector.”

Through the partnership, female students at ESCP will gain access to the SWAN Elevate mentoring programme , alongside the organisation’s professional network and female talent pool. Students will also be able to access internship opportunities shared across the SWAN ecosystem.

Building bridges into the space sector

Active in 17 countries with more than 270 individual and corporate members, SWAN works to strengthen women’s representation in the space sector through mentoring, greater visibility for female role models and connections between professionals and emerging talent.

The partnership with ESCP brings that network closer to students at an important point in their education and career development.

“We share a conviction with ESCP: to achieve lasting change in the representation of women in the space sector, we need to start at the education level,” said Christelle Astorg-Lepine, President of the Space Women Alliance.

“This partnership enables us to connect our international network of talent and professionals with an institution that is educating the future decision-makers and leaders of technological transformation. Together, we can build tangible bridges between female students, educational programmes and a space sector that needs to diversify its talent.”

Preparing a more diverse generation of technology leaders

The collaboration forms part of ESCP School of Technology’s growing academic and professional ecosystem, connecting management education with the organisations and industries where technological transformation is taking place.

It also reflects a broader ambition: to prepare students to understand technology alongside its managerial, economic and societal implications.

By giving more female students direct access to mentors, professional communities and career opportunities in space, the partnership turns that ambition into something tangible, creating pathways into a sector whose future will depend as much on the diversity of its talent as on the technologies it develops.
