A second semester of REAS conferences connects ESCP Master in Real Estate students with leading industry professionals in Madrid
Following the success of the first semester, ESCP Business School’s Master in Real Estate (MRE) programme continued its Real Estate Association (REAS) conference series in Madrid, reaffirming its commitment to providing students with direct access to industry leaders and real-world insights.
This second semester series once again brought together prominent figures from across the real estate sector, offering students the opportunity to deepen their understanding of key market trends while strengthening their professional network.
Hosted at the Colegio de Ingenieros, the REAS Conference Series welcomed senior executives and decision-makers from across the European real estate landscape. Through a combination of expert-led sessions and dedicated networking opportunities, students gained direct access to industry insights, strategic thinking, and career-shaping conversations.
The future of urban living: regeneration at scale
The series opened on 19 January with Peter Denton, Senior Advisor to European governments on housing and former CEO of Homes England. Addressing the theme of “The future of urban living: regeneration at scale”, Denton shared his perspective on one of the most pressing challenges facing global cities: delivering affordable housing at scale. Drawing on his experience at the intersection of public policy and private investment, he offered students a comprehensive view of how large-scale urban transformation projects are conceived and executed.
Creating value through repositioning in Madrid
On 26 January, Carmen Panadero, Managing Director of Impar Capital, led a session on “Creating value through repositioning in Madrid”. With nearly €500 million in assets under management, Panadero provided a practical, market-driven perspective on investment strategies in mature urban environments. Her insights highlighted how repositioning and active asset management can unlock value in increasingly competitive markets.
Real Estate Leadership in a changing market
The series concluded on 25 February with Jorge Pérez de Leza, CEO of Metrovacesa and President of the Urban Land Institute (ULI) Spain, who addressed “Real Estate Leadership in a Changing Market”. He emphasized the importance of discipline, long-term vision, and strong professional relationships in building sustainable value. His intervention also underscored the growing need for forward-thinking talent capable of navigating market cycles and leading through transformation.
Each session was followed by a networking cocktail, allowing students to engage directly with speakers and industry professionals. These interactions are a cornerstone of the MRE experience, reflecting ESCP’s commitment to combining academic excellence with practical exposure.
The REAS Conference Series reflects ESCP’s broader commitment to experiential learning and career readiness. By integrating industry engagement into the academic journey, the Master in Real Estate equips students with the tools, perspectives, and connections needed to succeed in a fast-evolving global sector. These initiatives offer a clear illustration of the programme’s hands-on approach: learning directly from those shaping the industry today, while preparing to lead it tomorrow.
