Option E final Jury Madrid: Maria de Molina Madrid Campus Radiates Excitement as Final Jury Marks a Day of Innovation, Tension, and Diligence

Last week was very exciting for the Maria de Molina Madrid campus, where the final Jury for our OptionE students took place. It was a day full of emotion, nerves, thrill and especially, a clash of new ideas, great proposals and lots of hard work

The final jury is the culmination of a challenging journey for all students taking up the #OptionE specialisation. This specialisation is part of the Master in Management programme, which, in Madrid, is taught with a Social and Sustainable Entrepreneurship perspective.

Why challenging: well, imagine yourself immersed in a completely different (and for some, new) environment, with students from 12 nationalities, backgrounds and ways of thinking, with professors with an out of the box personality and way of teaching who aim to boost your confidence, craft innovative responses, and help you built your capacity to “read” the work and detect value-creating opportunities that will be have bot, an economical and a social worth and they ask you to team up and create an idea to be model into a business proposal.

Well, this is exactly what our students achieved. During this four-mont journey they managed to craft and pitch 8 new projects with completely different optics:

  • Baby Snooze: A start up dedicated to help parents sleep by teaching them how to regulate their baby's sleeping schedule through the implementation of the right daily habits.
  • Pygmalion: A dating app for the arts.
  • Green Habits: Help schools to build sustainable habits by initiating challenges among students and measuring schools’ activities on the consumptions of energy, water, waste and CO2.
  • Lizer:  a company that utilizes satellite imagery and artificial intelligence to enhance crop yields and mitigate soil and water pollution for fruit farmers in France and Spain.
  • MaVie:  an all-in-one solution for secure and personalized healthcare management. The platform is designed to empower both patients and doctors, ensuring the utmost safety and control over medical information.
  • Sea Nest: Helping seaweed farmers earn additional revenue to increase their production by facilitating the access to carbon credits and the trading of them
  • WonderWell:An app designed to help tourists find and book tickets for sustainable leisure activities offered by small businesses in the area. From wine tastings to castle visits, we promote authentic and exclusive experiences.
  • Helpify: is a platform revolutionizing assistance services. Our mobile-optimized web app seamlessly connects users with skilled helpers, creating a dynamic marketplace. Clients post tasks, and helpers, compensated for their expertise, engaging in a supporting community.

Pitches where done in front of an amazing local jury composed of:

  1. Santi Magazu, CEO at OrbitalAds. https://www.linkedin.com/in/santimagazu/
  2. Alvaro Fernandez de Araoz, Managing Partner- Cybersecurity & Digital Growth at Correcta https://www.linkedin.com/in/alvarofernandezdearaoz/
  3. Manal Salah Managing partner at Eutopia CV and ESCP Alumni https://www.linkedin.com/in/manal-salah/
  4. Alejandro Hernández, Analista de Orbyn & Fellow Funders    https://www.linkedin.com/in/alejandrohernandezb/

From this 8 amazing pitches, the jury selected two finalists: MaVi and Helpify who later on made their pitch in front of an international jury competing with projects from Berlin, Paris, London and Turin, it was a tight call, all projects were strong and well thought off, but we are proud to announce that the Madrid campus Startup Helpify came out triumphant.
