Conference A first that calls for others

After the success of the first edition of the International Conference on Economics, Finance and Business organised jointly with the Prague University of Economics and Business and the International Institute of Social and Economic Sciences, ESCP Business School is considering hosting the second one.

The International Conference on Economics, Finance and Business, which took place in Prague between 11 and 13 September 2023, aimed to renew and strengthen contacts in the scientific and research community that were paused during the Covid period. But it also welcomed corporates and government executives. “We would like to bring together researchers and practitioners from different academic fields of economics, business and finance to exchange and present their research,” Professor Hamed Ghiaie, who like colleagues Jérôme Creel, Jaime Luque, Gonçalo Pina and Saeid Vafainia was a member of the conference’s Scientific Committee, had explained before the event. “It will provide a platform for debates on diverse issues relating to the aforementioned fields, supporting strategies to stimulate a comprehensive exploration of subjects and establishing new collaborations in these areas.”

A second edition held at ESCP

“The event witnessed the active participation of more than 60 scholars who presented their research findings and the conference was a success, as further acknowledged by the positive feedback we received. As a result, all parties expressed their willingness to continue the collaboration,” adds Hamed Ghiaie, who also gave one of the keynote speeches. "We would like to organize the second edition of the conference at our school in Paris during the spring of 2024. We invite researchers from academia, business, and government officials to present their research work at this exceptional event, which brings together diverse perspectives on economics, business, and finance. This unique gathering promises to facilitate insightful discussions and the exchange of valuable insights among participants.”
