A unique five-day programme connecting students with innovation, culture, and business in one of China’s most dynamic cities
From April 20-25, 2025, three ESCP students — Tanguy Matheron, Benjamin Antonovics, and Lina Naqual — took part in the Business Immersion Week hosted by the BFSU International Business School, a unique five-day experience held in Shenzhen, one of China’s most dynamic cities.
Developed in partnership with Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) and coordinated by the ESCP European Business Confucius Institute (EBCI), this new programme brought together a multicultural group of students and professors from around the world. The ESCP students joined an international team to explore some of China’s leading companies, gaining first-hand exposure to business strategy, innovation, and global competitiveness.
The group visited:
- Yongfuyuan Ceramics (Auratic) – fine porcelain and heritage branding
- SF Express – smart logistics and supply chain transformation
- OPPO – global technology and R&D
- Transsion Holdings – mobile tech leadership in emerging markets
Students engaged directly with executives, visited company headquarters, and observed operations on site, learning how these firms scale, innovate, and navigate international markets.
Beyond the boardroom: experiencing Shenzhen
But it wasn’t all boardrooms and business briefs. The trip also gave students a chance to experience Shenzhen itself, one of China’s top-tier cities, known for its rapid growth, tech-driven energy, creative spirit, and diverse food scene. Between visits, the group explored cultural landmarks and experienced everyday life in a modern Chinese metropolis.
A hands-on, cross-cultural learning journey
As the first edition of the Business Immersion Week, the programme reflects ESCP’s commitment to experiential, multicultural education. It offered students much more than classroom theory, providing new knowledge, new friendships, and a fresh perspective on international business in one of the world’s fastest-evolving economies.
