The new four-year programme combines Sciences Po’s expertise in political and social sciences with ESCP’s excellence in management education, preparing students to bridge public affairs and business in an increasingly complex world.

ESCP and Sciences Po have launched a new dual bachelor’s degree: the Bachelor in Politics, Economics and Management (PEM). Delivered entirely in English over four years, the programme combines the academic strengths of two leading European institutions to educate a new generation of graduates capable of understanding global challenges and translating them into impactful organisational and business strategies.

A new dual degree for a more complex world

Developed in response to profound geopolitical, economic, technological and environmental transformations, the programme addresses a growing demand for professionals who can navigate the intersection of public policy, economics and management.

By bringing together Sciences Po’s expertise in politics and social sciences and ESCP’s excellence in management education, the PEM Bachelor programme offers students a distinctive interdisciplinary pathway from the very beginning of their higher education journey.

Educating leaders equipped for interdisciplinary global challenges

Throughout the programme, students will benefit from the complementary strengths, academic communities and professional networks of both institutions, gaining a dual perspective on contemporary political, economic and organisational challenges.

"Business leaders need to understand not only markets and organisations, but also the political, social and regulatory forces that shape them.” says Prof. Léon Laulusa, Executive President & Dean of ESCP. "Through this innovative partnership with Sciences Po, we are creating a new educational model that combines intellectual depth, international exposure and practical management expertise. Our graduates will be exceptionally well prepared to lead across sectors and geographies.”

The curriculum combines core disciplines taught at Sciences Po, including political science, economics, sociology, history and law, with ESCP’s fundamentals in subjects like management, finance, strategy, and entrepreneurship.

“Artificial intelligence is transforming our relationship to knowledge, but it makes the skills that cannot be automated even more valuable: critical thinking, sound judgement and the ability to connect different disciplines,” says Luis Vassy, President of Sciences Po. “By combining the humanities and social sciences with the fundamentals of management, we are creating a unique dual degree programme with ESCP. It will help our students better understand the world’s complexities and, in the future, come up with well-informed solutions.”

A pan-European experience, two degrees, and multiple career pathways

The PEM programme is designed as a truly international journey with students experiencing multiple countries throughout their four years:

  • Years 1 & 2: Completed at Sciences Po’s Reims campus
  • Year 3: Completed at ESCP’s London campus
  • Year 4: Completed across one of ESCP’s other European campuses (Berlin, Madrid, Turin or Paris) with opportunities for international exchange.

Upon successful completion of the programme, students will receive both the Sciences Po Bachelor’s Degree and the ESCP Bachelor in Management Degree, ranked number 1 in France by leading French media including Le Figaro, Le Parisien, and Challenges. Graduates will be able to pursue careers across the public, private and non-profit sectors or continue with a master’s degree at either institution or another top international university.

“ESCP brings over two centuries of excellence in management education and an international perspective that complements Sciences Po’s renowned expertise in the social sciences,” says Robert Sheldon, Associate Dean - Bachelor in Management at ESCP. “This programme reflects the strength of two complementary institutions committed to educating the next generation of global decision-makers.”

Empowering global talent and shaping the future

The programme will welcome an inaugural cohort of approximately 40 students from all around the world for the September 2027-2028 academic year. To attract and support outstanding students regardless of background, Sciences Po and ESCP will offer dedicated scholarships. ESCP will award six scholarships annually, covering up to 100% of the tuition fees for the ESCP portion of the programme, based on academic merit and financial need.

This programme also marks a concrete step in ESCP’s Bold & United strategic plan, paving the way towards the future ESCP School of Governance, opening in 2029.

At the crossroads of politics, economics, and management, the PEM Bachelor programme reflects a shared ambition to educate graduates who can navigate complexity, work across disciplines, and understand the forces driving our world.
