ESCP London Campus Celebrates Executive Master in Future Energy Class of 2023 Graduation

The ceremony celebrated 25 graduates from 21 nationalities, with friends and family joining both in person and virtually from countries as far as Japan, Argentina, and across Europe.

The event was hosted by Marie Taillard, Executive Director of EMFE and L'Oréal Professor of Creativity Marketing at ESCP Business School, and opened with a welcome address from ESCP London Campus Dean Kamran Razmdoost. In his speech, Dean Razmdoost highlighted this cohort's crucial role in shaping the future of energy, addressing the pressing global challenges of energy transition, and co-creating a more sustainable world.

The Executive Master in Future Energy equips professionals to lead in the rapidly changing energy landscape, where renewable energy and sustainability are becoming industry priorities. The programme focuses on innovation, project implementation, and strategic leadership, preparing graduates to tackle global energy challenges and drive the transition to cleaner energy sources.

The keynote speaker, Jean-Baptiste Cornefert, Digital Innovation, Low Carbon Solutions - Vice President at BP, emphasised the complexity of the energy sector and the varying pace of energy transitions across different markets. He noted that the adaptability, flexibility, and global perspective gained through the EMFE programme will be instrumental in managing these transitions effectively. He concluded by emphasising that the expertise and skills developed through the EMFE programme will be crucial as graduates take on leadership roles in shaping the future of energy, ensuring that the industry addresses its global challenges effectively and sustainably.

EMFE Academic Director, Spiros Papaefthimiou, echoed this sentiment and reflected on his close involvement with the graduates from the interview stage to their final ceremony. He noted that their success stems from their problem-solving mindset, flexibility, and comprehensive understanding of global energy markets. He emphasised that these qualities, along with the international perspectives gained, will be critical in driving the energy transition forward.

The ceremony concluded with inspiring speeches from two student representatives. Zuzana Tatta Velickova reflected on the richness of the cohort’s learning experience, particularly during in-person seminars held at the London and Madrid campuses. She emphasised that the diversity of the group provided invaluable perspectives, which will be key in shaping their future careers in the global energy landscape.

Laurent Sutter outlined four guiding values for his classmates as they embark on their professional journeys: follow your passion, persevere through challenges, believe in your mission, and collaborate with others. He encouraged his fellow graduates to remember that their collective efforts will make all the difference in navigating the energy transition.
