Léon Laulusa, Dean ESCP of ESCP Business School, and Jean-Roch Varon, President of EY France, giving opening speech

Launched in 2023, this partnership builds on a long-standing relationship between the School and the firm, with a shared objective: to further embed sustainability issues into finance education and strengthen the connection between students and professional practice.

A celebration event held at the EY ImpACT Lab in Paris marked this renewal, bringing together academic leads, faculty members and ESCP teams involved in the project, as well as ESCP alumni at EY and the firm’s professionals, whose commitment continues to sustain and develop this partnership over time.

A partnership at the heart of transformations in finance

Led by Michael Troege and Daniel Rouach, Professors at ESCP, together with Stéphane Morel and Patrice Santi, Affiliate Professors at ESCP, the Finance, Sustainability & Innovation partnership aims to integrate real-world challenges related to the transformation of finance professions.

With the involvement of EY teams, students are exposed to key topics such as CSRD, sustainability accounting, and extra-financial assurance and reporting, through guest lectures, case studies and direct exchanges with professionals.

The relationship between EY and ESCP is a long-standing collaboration built on shared values of excellence and responsibility. Educating talents today also means giving them the tools to understand global transformations and adapt to them.

A hands-on collaboration

The partnership translates into initiatives directly embedded in students’ academic experience:

  • guest lectures delivered by EY professionals
  • applied workshops and case studies
  • dissertation topics
  • immersive experiences, particularly within the EY ImpACT Lab

With EY, we are developing a highly practical approach to finance, sustainability and innovation, closely aligned with professional practices and regulatory developments.

Expanding into innovation through Company Projects

The partnership has recently been further strengthened with an additional focus on innovation through the introduction of Company Projects, as part of the Consulting Dynamics and Practices specialisation.

These projects, carried out by student teams in close collaboration with EY professionals, address current and strategic business challenges. Supervised by ESCP tutors and EY experts, students conduct in-depth analyses, including research, interviews and actionable recommendations.

An engaged community

The event also highlighted the presence of ESCP alumni at EY through a panel discussion featuring several partners from the firm. Their testimonials paid tribute to their ESCP journey and illustrated the diversity of career paths at EY, highlighting the continuity between academic training and professional trajectories.

The evening concluded with the screening of an immersive film created by the EY ImpACT Lab, exploring several climate change scenarios and powerfully underscoring the urgency of active awareness and action.
