Banking & Finance Career Insights connects ESCP students with industry professionals and alumni

ESCP Careers Madrid has continued its programme of industry-focused events designed to bring students closer to the companies, professionals and alumni shaping today’s employment landscape.

The latest Banking & Finance Career Insights event took place on 14 October 2026 at ESCP Madrid’s Arroyofresno campus. The session welcomed 60 students, with particularly strong participation from the Master in Management, Bachelor and MSc in Real Estate programmes. As with all ESCP Careers events involving companies and alumni, the session was open to all ESCP students with an interest in the sector, including students from other campuses who were able to attend.

Banking & Finance

The event brought together representatives from leading organisations including ING, Banco Sabadell, S&P Global, Santander, Lazard and Jefferies, alongside ESCP alumni now working in the industry. Through company panels, alumni conversations and an informal networking session, students gained first-hand insight into professional journeys, recruitment processes and the skills required to build a successful career in Banking & Finance.

The session was led by Juana Aledo Martínez, Assistant Professor of Accounting at ESCP Business School and Director of the Investment Banking Specialisation at the Madrid campus. Her expertise and guidance helped frame the discussion and encouraged students to engage directly with the panellists.

Banking & Finance

The participation of ESCP alumni was a central element of the event. Alumni working in investment banking, corporate lending, asset management, recruitment and strategic roles shared their experiences of entering and progressing within the sector. Their perspectives offered students a more personal understanding of the different career paths available and the transition from business school to the professional world.

The event also highlighted the value of building meaningful connections between students, companies and the ESCP community. By creating opportunities for direct dialogue, ESCP Careers supports students in developing a clearer understanding of industry expectations and making informed decisions about their professional future.

The Banking & Finance session forms part of ESCP Madrid’s ongoing, sector-focused approach to career development. Following the first Consulting and Marketing events launched during the 2024–2025 academic year, the programme has expanded to cover the sectors that most interest students at the Madrid campus.
