Pascal Morand is the Executive President of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la
Mode. He is also Professor Emeritus at ESCP Business School and a member of the
National Academy of Technologies in France.
He graduated from HEC (1978) and holds a master’s degree in Organization Science
(University Paris Dauphine - PSL, 1979) and a Phd in Economics (Doctorat d’Etat)
(University of Rouen, 1988).
Along with his academic career (professor at Neoma, ESCP Business School, lecturer at
Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and HEC, visiting scholar at Northwestern University), he has
been Director General of Institut Français de la Mode (1987-2006), Dean of ESCP Business
School (2006-2012), Deputy Director General of Paris Region Chamber of Commerce and
Industry, in charge of Studies, Public Affairs and Policy (2013-2015). He was an advisor for
the Textile and Clothing Moroccan Industry and the Government of Morocco (2002-2006)
and was endorsed by Christine Lagarde, then Minister of Economics of France, with different
missions (2006-2010), respectively dealing with Globalization, Innovation and the Economic
and Financial Crisis.
His articles and publications deal with with innovation and design, as well as the relationships
between Economy and Culture. He notably published : La victoire de Luther ; essai sur

et religions ; essai sur l’éthique de la richesse d’Orient en Occident IFM/Regard, 2012) ; Le
