Jessica Breaugh is a Senior Lecturer at ESCP Business School, Berlin Campus.  She teaches in the field of business and society. Her multidisciplinary background in Psychology, Politics and International Affairs, and (Public) Management has shaped her research interests, particularly in understanding the work conditions, and work motivations behind wanting to give back to society.

Her research has been published in several highly ranked journals, including Public Management Review and Government Information Quarterly. She also serves on the editorial board of Public Personnel Review. Before joining ESCP in 2022, she was a Post-Doctoral Researcher and Lecturer at the Hertie School, where she was affiliated with the Centre for Digital Governance and the Centre for Fundamental Rights.

Jessica holds a PhD from the Hertie School, awarded in 2020, focusing on work motivation and the drive to give back to society. She also earned her master’s and bachelor’s degrees from the University of Ottawa, Canada. During her PhD studies, she completed a research stay at Utrecht University.

Previously, Jessica worked for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Canada in Ottawa, Hungary, the UK, and Germany, first in the field of program evaluation (international programs) and later in international human resources management.
