Marie-Catherine Scherer is a Permanent Teaching Professor at ESCP Business School in Paris.
Born in Germany and raised in a Franco-German household, she has always been interested in languages and interculturality. This interest led her to pursue a PhD in Anthropology at EHESS Paris, focusing on the relationship between the individual and the collective, with a particular emphasis on the sense of belonging.
At the same time, she collaborated with German-speaking companies on their international events in France and developed her career as a German teacher in both public and private institutions, teaching students from beginner to advanced levels.
Her main motivation is the conviction that learning a language offers an opportunity to discover another way of seeing the world, to understand cultural diversity, and to become more comfortable communicating with people from different backgrounds. Through her experience, she has found these abilities to be essential in international working environments.
