Dr Marion Boisseau-Sierra is an Associate Professor in the Financial Reporting & Audit Department at ESCP Business School.
Her research examines financial reporting transparency, with a particular focus on sovereign accounting, credit rating agencies, and the accounting of public sector debt in an international context. Marion developed a strong interest in sovereign accounting while working as a credit rating advisor at the French investment bank Crédit Agricole CIB during the European sovereign debt crisis in the early 2010s. This experience inspired her research into the complexities of sovereign accounting and their broader implications for financial transparency, public governance, and capital markets.
Prior to joining ESCP, Marion served on the faculty of Cambridge Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge. She has also been a visiting scholar at Georgetown University (USA) and HEC Paris (France).
Marion holds a PhD in Accounting and Finance from Paris Dauphine University. She studied economics and business at the College of Europe and at the École Normale Supérieure Paris-Saclay.
