The ESCP Energy Society is thrilled to host a discussion on “Energy Storage: Market Overview and Total Energy's role in the Sector” with Nicolas Ferzy, Energy Storage Business Development at TotalEnergies (ESCP Alumnus 2022).
As the world transitions to variable and intermittent sources of energy, and energy security becomes a top concern following Russia's invasion of Ukraine; integrating energy storage systems is the key next technological breakthrough needed to ensure the flow of green and reliable electricity to power up the world's economy.
Are technologies proven and ready to penetrate the market at competitive prices? In what ways can energy storage ensure a green and reliable energy grid? Which policies are in place, and which ones need to be developed to incentivise its large-scale deployment? Who is at the forefront of this race?
The Webinar will discuss the following:
- The various energy storage technologies (e.g. lithium-ion, lithium iron phosphate) and the different use cases for batteries (e.g. ancillary services, energy arbitrage)
- The economics of energy storage technologies (current costs and cost trends) and the particularities of each technology (e.g. discharge durations, cycles per day)
- The regulations and policies needed to accelerate energy storage deployment
- Projects under development or already developed by Total Energies
The event will take place via Zoom Webinar.
