ESCP is honoured to welcome Professor Mario Monti, whose distinguished career spans the highest levels of European governance, academia, and Italian leadership.

In this exceptional lecture titled 'Crisis and Change: Sharing Experiences from a Career in EU Institutions, Academia and the Italian Government', Prof. Monti will draw upon his unique perspective as former European Commissioner for Competition (1999-2004) and former Italian Prime Minister of Italy (2011-2013), to explore how institutions navigate periods of transformation and upheaval.

The lecture will provide invaluable insights into the interconnected nature of European policy-making, national governance, and academic thought leadership. Drawing from his experience leading Italy through a critical financial crisis and his role in shaping EU competition policy at the dawn of the digital age, Prof. Monti will discuss the delicate balance between managing immediate crises and implementing long-term structural reforms.

Following the lecture, a panel discussion will offer attendees the opportunity to engage in a deeper dialogue about the challenges and opportunities facing European institutions today.

The event will end with networking drinks.
