Beyond Brexit: France–UK Economic Collaboration, with Pierre Chabrol, Minister Counsellor at the French Embassy

Join ESCP's EBS and European societies for an engaging discussion with Pierre Chabrol, Minister Counsellor for Economic Affairs at the French Embassy in the UK.

This event offers students a unique opportunity to gain first-hand insight into the work of a senior diplomat and the role economic affairs play in international relations.

Pierre Chabrol will discuss his responsibilities at the French Embassy, as well as France–UK collaboration in the post-Brexit context and the shared economic and political challenges facing both countries. Students will gain a deeper understanding of diplomacy, international economic relations and the evolving relationship between France and the UK.

The event will begin with a welcome from London Campus Dean Marie Taillard, and introductions from student society representatives. The keynote will be followed by a Q&A session, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions, engage directly with the speaker and explore topics relevant to their studies and future careers.

Students are then invited to continue the conversation informally over drinks after the event.

About Our Speaker
Pierre Chabrol has been Minister Counsellor for Economic Affairs and Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy in London since September 2023.

Pierre joined the French Treasury in 2010, where he held various positions. He served as Deputy Head of the Economic Department at the French Embassy in Beijing from 2014 to 2017, Head of the Trade Policy Division from 2017 to 2020, Head of the Savings and Financial Markets Division from 2020 to 2021, and then Deputy Director for Corporate Financing and Financial Markets from 2021 to 2023.

Before joining the Treasury, Pierre was a judge at the Paris Administrative Court from 2008 to 2010.
