Ambassador Pedro Serrano: Europe and the UK in a Changing World

We are pleased to invite you to an evening with His Excellency Pedro Serrano, EU Ambassador to the UK and Head of the Delegation of the European Union.

The keynote and panel discussion ‘Europe and the UK in a Changing World’ will take place at ESCP London Campus on Tuesday, 26th November.

Ambassador Serrano will share his insights on how Europe and the UK can redefine their partnership in the face of global challenges such as climate change, technological innovation, and international security.

He will be joined by London Campus Dean, Prof. Marie Taillard and Irina von Wiese, Affiliate Professor and former Member of the European Parliament, for a conversation and audience Q&A.

This event will also be the launch of the new MSc in Economics and Policy for Business. Starting in September 2026 in London, the MSc in Economics and Policy for Business (MEP) is designed for students aiming to build careers in advisory, consulting, or strategic roles at the intersection of business and government. The programme will equip students with advanced knowledge of economic theory, regulatory frameworks, and political dynamics, preparing them to navigate complex policy and business environments or to innovate within existing organisations.

A drinks reception will follow the keynote and panel discussion.

About Our Speaker

His Excellency Pedro Serrano is EU Ambassador to the United Kingdom, Chief of Staff to the European Union’s High Representative for foreign affairs and security policy, and EC Vice President Josep Borrell Fontelles until October 2022.

His previous roles include that of Deputy Secretary General for Common Security and Defence Policy and Crisis Response at the European External Action Service (EEAS) and Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the European Council Herman Van Rompuy. Pedro Serrano was also the first EU Ambassador to the United Nations in New York, after the entry into force of the Lisbon Treaty.

Born in Madrid, Pedro Serrano is married and has two daughters.
