Technological Disruption and International Business

On 20 November 2026, ESCP Business School’s Berlin Campus will host the 5th European Network for Globalization Research Conference (ENGlo), bringing together leading scholars to explore how technological disruption is reshaping international business.

Marking the fifth anniversary of the annual conference, formerly also known as “Globalization Day”, ENGlo 2026 turns its attention to technological disruption and the ways international firms can respond to it. Following previous editions dedicated to topics including globalisation, regionalisation and geopolitics, this year’s conference will examine the impact of AI and other technologies on doing business across borders.

Whether you are a doctoral student, early-career researcher or established academic, the conference offers an opportunity to exchange ideas, discuss ongoing research and connect with the international research community.

Doctoral Workshop | 19 November 2026

Ahead of the main conference, ENGlo will host a dedicated Doctoral Workshop for PhD students on Thursday, 19 November.

The morning sessions will provide input from established scholars on topics including the publication process, journal submissions and research methods in international business.

In the afternoon, participants will have the opportunity to receive detailed feedback on a paper or part of a paper in a Paper Development Workshop (PDW) format. Submissions may consist of a full paper or individual sections such as theory, literature or methodology.

Paper submission deadline for the Doctoral Workshop: 15 October 2026.

PhD students may present their research both during the Doctoral Workshop and during the main conference on 20 November.

Participation is limited and registration is required.

PhD student fee: €100
