Christian F. Durach (Dr.-Ing. habil.) is a full Professor and holds the Chair of Supply Chain and Operations Management at ESCP's Berlin Campus. Prior to joining ESCP, he was the Head of the Center for International Logistics Networks (endowed by the Kühne Foundation) at the Chair of Logistics, Technische Universität Berlin. He earned his Dr. (PhD) and Habilitation from Technische Universität Berlin. He also graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, MA, USA), and Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Winterthur, CHE).
At ESCP, he instructs in the areas of Operations Management & Information Systems, (Sustainable) Supply Chain Management, and Research Methods at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Executive levels. In 2016, he was awarded the Berlin Certificate for Teaching in Higher Education by the Berlin Center of Teaching in Higher Education.
His primary research interests and activities focus on sustainability in organizations and their supply chains/logistics, supply chain risk management, and facets of digitalization tied to sustainability and risk management. His work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, among others. He serves as the European Co-Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics (recipient of the Outstanding Senior Editor Award in 2021 and Outstanding Reviewer Award in 2019). He's also the Senior Associate Editor of the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (Emerald Best Reviewer Award, 2017) and an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management (Emerald Best Reviewer Award, 2020). Christian frequently presents at both business and research conferences. He is a member of the Center for Supply Networks (CaSN) at Arizona State University, the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society, and the Global Manufacturing Research Group (GMRG).
Additionally, Christian serves as the academic director for all specialized master’s programs hosted by the ESCP Berlin Campus.
