Christian F. Durach (Dr.-Ing., Technische Universität Berlin) is full Professor and occupies the Chair of Supply Chain and Operations Management at ESCP, Berlin Campus. Before joining ESCP he was the Head of the Center for International Logistics Networks (endowed by the Kühne Foundation) at the Chair of Logistics, Technische Universität Berlin, and worked for companies and ministries such as SIGarms (USA) and the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (GER). He graduated from the Technische Universität Berlin (Berlin, GER), the Worcester Polytechnic Institute (Worcester, MA, USA) and the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Winterthur, CHE).
At ESCP, he teaches Operations Management & Information Systems, (Sustainable) Supply Chain Management and Research Methods at the Bachelor's, Master's, and Executive levels. He received the Berlin Certificate for Teaching in Higher Education from the Berlin Center of Teaching in Higher Education in 2016.
His main research interests and activities are related to supply chain risk management, digitization, and the implications of social sustainability on modern operations. His work has appeared in the Journal of Operations Management, Journal of Supply Chain Management, Journal of Business Logistics and others. He is a Senior Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics (Outstanding Senior Editor Award, 2021; Outstanding Reviewer Award, 2019), Senior Associate Editor of the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (Emerald Best Reviewer Award, 2017) and Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management (Emerald Best Reviewer Award, 2020). Christian is a frequent speaker at both business and research conferences. He is a member of the Center for Supply Networks (CaSN) at Arizona State University, the Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society, and the Global Manufacturing Research Group (GMRG).
Christian is also the academic director of all specialized master’s programs hosted by the ESCP Berlin Campus.
