Christian F. Durach (Dr.-Ing. habil.) is a full professor and Chair of Supply Chain and Operations Management at ESCP’s Berlin Campus.

He teaches Operations Management & Information Systems, (Sustainable) Supply Chain Management, and Research Methods at various levels. In 2016, he received the Berlin Certificate for Teaching in Higher Education from the Berlin Center for Teaching in Higher Education.

His research focuses on sustainability in organisations and supply chains, supply chain risk management, and the intersection of digitalisation, sustainability, and risk management. His work has been published in leading journals, including the Journal of Operations Management, Production and Operations Management, and the Journal of Supply Chain Management.

Christian serves as the European Co-Editor of the Journal of Business Logistics (Outstanding Senior Editor Award, 2021), Senior Associate Editor of the International Journal of Physical Distribution & Logistics Management (Emerald Best Reviewer Award, 2017), and an Editorial Board Member of the International Journal of Operations & Production Management (Emerald Best Reviewer Award, 2020).

He regularly presents at conferences and is a member of the Center for Supply Networks (CaSN) at Arizona State University, Beta Gamma Sigma International Honor Society, and the Global Manufacturing Research Group (GMRG).

Christian is also the academic director of all specialised master’s programmes at ESCP Berlin.

Prior to joining ESCP, he was the Head of the Center for International Logistics Networks at Technische Universität Berlin. He earned his doctorate (Dr.-Ing.) and habilitation from Technische Universität Berlin and holds degrees from Worcester Polytechnic Institute (USA) and Zurich University of Applied Sciences (Switzerland).
