Olivier Saulpic is a Professor in the Performance Measurement and Management Department at ESCP Business School, Paris Campus, and co-coordinator of the department.
Professor Saulpic teaches Management Control in most programmes at the school, including the Master in Management, Specialized Master, Executive MBA, PhD, and Executive Education. He created the Management Control and the Research, Analysis, Impact Studies, and Consulting specializations, in which he develops project- and research-based teaching. He also co-teaches an elective course called Critical Perspectives on Capitalism and integrates issues related to climate change into the Management Control core course.
His research focuses on field-based studies of performance measurement and management systems, particularly in the health sector. He examines their design, their appropriation by individuals, their effects, and their use as a public policy tool. His research often involves collaboration with organisations through intervention research projects. He also explores the relationship between research and teaching.
He is a board member of the Société Française de Management (SFM) and the Association pour la Recherche Appliquée en Management des Organisations de Santé (ARAMOS). He is also a member of the PREPS scientific committee (French Ministry of Health research programme) and serves as an elected member of the ESCP works council (CSE).
Professor Saulpic graduated with an engineering degree from École Centrale Paris, holds an MBA from HEC, and earned a Doctorate in Economics from École Polytechnique. He also holds an HDR (French Qualification for PhD Supervisors) in Management from Université d’Orléans. Before joining ESCP, he worked as a consultant in industrial organisation, in venture capital, and as the head of the industrial department of a chemical company.
