Alberta Di Giuli

Alberta Di Giuli
Alberta Di Giuli is Dean of ESCP Turin Campus and a Professor of Finance at ESCP Business School and Academic Director of the MSc in Financial Innovation & Technology. She is a Research Member at the European Corporate Governance Institute (ECGI). Her research interests include ESG, climate finance, corporate governance, media coverage, and political connections.Professor Di Giuli earned her MSc cum laude in Business Administration, specializing in Finance, as well as her PhD from Bocconi University. She has presented her research at numerous leading academic and practitioner conferences. Her work has been published in renowned journals such as the Journal of Financial Economics and the Journal of Financial Intermediation. From 2011 to 2023, she was based at the ESCP Paris Campus. Professor Di Giuli has held several key roles within ESCP, including serving as Head of the Finance Department from 2020 to 2022.

A 15-MONTH FULL-TIME PROGRAMME
The programme begins in September and is organised as follows:
Term 1
Core Business Foundations (Jul–Sep)
Jul-Sep: Candidates with < 240 ECTS previous degree (or equivalent)
These six modules are mandatory only for candidates with less than 240 ECTS (or equivalent).
They will be conducted in an online format between July and September before the campus terms. Candidates may be exempted from attending these modules based on their prior work experience (3 years required). Please refer to the Admission tab for further details.

Term 2
Advanced Finance & Data Skills (Oct–Feb, Turin Campus)
The MSc in Financial Innovation & Technology provides a strong foundation in both quantitative methods and core finance principles. The programme begins with essential mathematical, statistical, and econometric tools, enabling students to analyse financial data, develop predictive models, and apply advanced technologies like Machine Learning (ML) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to financial decision-making. Building on this technical expertise, the curriculum delves into key areas of finance, including corporate finance, valuation, financial markets, portfolio management, and derivatives.
Students also gain insights into banking, insurance, and investment sectors, equipping them with the skills to navigate the evolving financial landscape and drive innovation in fintech and financial services.
Additionally, students at the Turin campus have access to a state-of-the-art trading room equipped with 12 brand-new Bloomberg terminals, allowing them to gain hands-on experience with real-time financial data, market analysis, and investment decision-making tools widely used by finance professionals worldwide.

Term 3
Fintech & Innovation Modules (Mar–Apr, Paris Campus)
This term explores the transformative impact of digital technologies on the financial sector and fintech industry. Students gain a comprehensive understanding of fintech fundamentals, decentralised finance (DeFi), and innovative business models shaping the industry. Courses in design thinking and project management provide essential frameworks for developing user-centric financial solutions, while a deep dive into cybersecurity, regulation, and compliance (RegTech) equips students to navigate the evolving regulatory landscape. By integrating technology with finance, this module prepares students to drive digital transformation and create disruptive solutions in the financial services industry.
Immersion Trips
May: Milan, London, New York, East Asia (7-10 days)
As part of the programme’s global outlook, the immersion trips offer students exclusive access to key financial hubs in Milan, London, New York and East Asia. Through company visits, networking events, and industry conferences, students gain first-hand exposure to diverse financial ecosystems, regulatory landscapes, and cutting-edge innovations shaping global markets. These experiences provide valuable insights into international best practices, emerging trends, and strategic decision-making, equipping students with a global perspective essential for success in fintech and financial services.
Term 4
International Internship & Master Thesis (May–Dec)
Professional Mission
May-Dec: A professional mission of 4 months minimum anywhere in the world
From May to December, students are required to undergo a 4-month in-company internship. The internship provides students with an opportunity to apply the theoretical concepts learned from courses in practical settings, with the aim of establishing a career in the industry.
The Corporate Relations Department
The Corporate Relations Department is responsible for sourcing placement offers from various companies. Additionally, the department hosts a series of fairs featuring firms, which offer Master's students multiple opportunities to network.

Dec: Writing and defending a professional thesis
This research project is an essential part of the programme as it allows for in-depth analysis. It should be carried out in terms 2, 3 and 4. The chosen topic must be approved by the professional thesis supervisor by the end of term 2. The assessment of the Master's professional thesis is determined by a written report and an oral defence in front of a panel by the end of December.
The professional dissertation comprises 17 of the total 120 ECTS credits acquired during this academic year.
Additionally, students are required to attend a Research Seminar conducted by an ESCP professor, accounting for 3 ECTS credits of the 120 earned this academic year.

- Minimum 180 ECTS credits Bachelor's or Master's degree in any field
- English fluency (C1 level)
What is considered a plus:
- Previous work experience in FinTech
- A little knowledge of a second foreign language
Procedure
Step 1: Application form
Applications are submitted online. Carefully complete the online application form before the deadline specified in the Admissions Calendar and provide the following required documents:
- A copy of your ID card (double-sided) or passport
- A copy of your Master's or Bachelor's degree OR proof of enrolment in a current Bachelor's programme
- The original or a certified copy of your transcripts for all years of study
- An up-to-date curriculum vitae
- A motivational letter
- A reference letter (academic or professional)
- An English language certificate for non-native speakers who have not studied their degree in English
We require the following minimum test scores*:
IELTS: 7 – Cambridge (CAE): 180 – TOEFL IBT: 100 – TOEIC: 935
*Certificates older than 2 years will not be accepted.
If you are declared eligible, you will be invited to the 2nd stage of the process.
Step 2: Personal Interview
Candidates whose online applications are accepted will be invited for a personal interview, which plays an important role in assessing their ability and motivation to participate in the programme.
Interviews are held online from October to June each year.
Step 3: Admission Response
In about 3-4 weeks you will be contacted by our Admission Coordinator of the specialised international Master and know if you have been admitted.

Application Fee
- A payment of €130 for all applicants. Please not that the application fee is non-refundable.
Fees
Tuition fees for the academic year 2026/2027:
- €17,200 for core courses and €10,300 for the Financial Innovation & Technology specialisation;
- Student service and registration costs: €2,000.
- Total Costs*: €27,500 for European and non-European students
Candidates entering the programme with fewer than 240 ECTS will also be required to attend an additional online semester with a supplement fee of €3,300.
For any additional year until graduation, reduced student service and administrative costs (€1,000) are payable.
The above costs already include the ESCP Alumni lifelong membership, administrative & service costs, and the international SOS mobility support.
Travel & accommodation costs are not included for all classes on ESCP campuses (Berlin, London, Paris, Madrid, Turin or Venice). Tuition fees cover all lessons and materials, all company visits, consultancy projects, lectures and all other highly interactive activities.
Applicants who are offered a place must confirm their acceptance and pay a non-refundable deposit of €3,500, which will be deducted from the total tuition fees.

They may vary by a maximum of 6% each year in comparison to previous years. In case of variation, new tuition fees amounts will be communicated to students by all means, at the latest, in July of the year N, for the academic year N/N+1.
