International Meeting of the Erasmus+ SUST Turismo Project – Namibe 2025
From May 27 to 30 th, 2025, the city of Moçâmedes, in Namibe province (Angola), warmly hosted the Final International Meeting of the SUST Turismo Project — a vibrant space for exchange between institutions, knowledge, entrepreneurial projects, and experiences committed to a more sustainable future for tourism in Africa.
During those intensive days, we shared reflections, best practices, and inspiring projects in the field of responsible and sustainable tourism. Participants also had the opportunity to explore the extraordinary landscapes of Namibe — a true tourism treasure — from the majestic desert to fascinating natural formations such as the Welwitschia Garden, the Lagoa do Arcos, and the Mbindy yo Mutuati Hills.
Highlights of the Meeting:

- Presentation of the entrepreneurial PET projects from participating higher education institutions;

Alliances for the Future
The event strengthened strategic partnerships with universities from several Lusophone and Ibero-American countries: Lusophone University of Guinea, Federal Technological University of Paraná (Brazil), University of São Tomé and Príncipe, University of Luanda, and Catholic University of Mozambique.
Together, we are paving the way to continue training sustainable tourism agents and promoting local entrepreneurship, especially among youth and women. International collaboration and knowledge sharing have been and will continue to be pillars of the project.
United for Sustainable Tourism!
The energy, bonds created, and shared commitment are the greatest legacy of this meeting. Namibe was more than a stage — it was a source of inspiration and a deep connection with the territory and its communities.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible. We continue as a network, with a spirit of collaboration, to strengthen fairer, more inclusive, and sustainable tourism in Africa.
