The Globetrotters team, made up of three Master in Management students, is going to represent Italy at the Worldwide Finals in Paris on May 17th 2018

L'Oréal's ultimate innovation competition, with over 154.000 participants from more than 60 countries over the last 26 years, gives teams of three students the chance to tackle a real business case and innovate new ideas for some of L’Oréal’s international brands.

In Italy, the 2018 Brandstorm edition involved the largest number of students in its history: 1.000 participants from 15 universities.

This year the mission of the business case was to invent the customer experience for the professional salon of the future.

The competitors had six months to work in a team and create a concept, compare their ideas and check the feasibility of their project. Of the 160 Italian participating teams, only eight were admitted to the national finals in Milan where they presented their ideas to L'Oréal managers.

In Italy, 2 teams have won access to the World Finals: the Womb team, made up of Nur Eral, Margherita Franzoso, Daniel Alberto Sebastia, students from the University of Modena-Reggio Emilia, and the Globetrotters team, made up of Anita Betti, Giulia Cammarata and Elena Seita from ESCP.

Our Globetrotters created the "Blockchain Connected Beauty" project which involves the use of a smart bracelet to collect and analyse data, which allows the consumer to receive extremely personalized treatment. Thanks to the use of the proposed technology, consumers will be able to track the progress of the health of their hair and skin over time, allowing everyone to become the best version of themselves.

The ESCP team is full of ideas and have great analytical and strategic sense. The girls did a great job analyzing in detail the experience of consumers who visit professional salons to propose an innovative and captivating idea.

The Globetrotters team, mentored by Assistant Professor Isabella Maggioni, is made up of three Master in Management students: Anita Betti (Madrid-Paris-Los Angeles-London track), who is specialized in Creativity Marketing Management and is going to graduate in 2018; Giulia Cammarata (Turin-London-Madrid-Paris track) editor of “Thrive”, the independent student magazine at ESCP, and Event Associate at JET ESCP, who will be starting an internship in Unilever next month;  Elena Seita (Turin-Madrid-London-Paris track) after her previous experience at Ernest & Young, will be starting an internship in Loro Piana, which is part of the LVMH Group, next month.

The Worldwide Finals will be held in Paris on May 17th during an event at the Tech Fair where selected students from all over the world will present their ideas to a jury. There will be three awards worth 10,000 Euros up for grabs in three different sectors: Brand, Tech and CSR. These prizes will be shared equally between the team members. At any step of the Competition, participants can be recruited for an internship in a division of the L'Oreal Group.

Good luck to Globtrotters team, we're sure you are more than ready to do your best!
