Specializing in International Business, Jean Paul Lemaire is Professor Emeritus at ESCP B.S..
In his research and teaching, he favors a multidisciplinary approach to the environment and
international development of companies and organizations.
A graduate of the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, with a degree in Sociology (Sorbonne)
and a Diplôme d'Etudes Supérieures de Droit et d'Economie Internationale (Paris I Panthéon
Sorbonne), he obtained his Doctorate in Economics from Paris I Panthéon Sorbonne after the
HEC doctoral program, and holds an Habilitation à Diriger des recherches (IAE de Caen).
Initially a researcher at CNAM and Entreprise et Personnel, he contributed to the creation of
various profit and non-profit professional training and consultancy structures (DEMOS, Aster
Consultants, FORMASTER Association), specializing in international management. A long-time
lecturer at the Institut d'Etudes Politiques de Paris, he has regularly taught at HEC Paris,
ESSEC, HEC Lausanne and Cnam.
As a tenured professor, he coordinated the International Affairs, Economics and Environment
departments at ESC Rouen, before joining EAP in 1987. Attached to the European Marketing

Department at ESCP-EAP, in addition to general marketing courses, he has led, directed or co-
directed various international management courses and programs (specialization programs,

electives, specialized masters, steges, executive education, executive MBA, etc.).
In addition to teaching at ESCP campuses, he has been and is regularly invited by institutions in
various countries: Santa Clara University (USA), Russian Academy of Foreign Trade and MGU),
ESA Beirut, ESAA Algiers, CFVG Hanoi and HCM, Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad,
Royal University of Law and Economics of Cambodia, San Andres Universidad (Buenos Aires),
Tsukuba National University (Tokyo), University of Adelaide , University of South Australia
A member of numerous academic communities, including AIB (Academy of International
Business), EIBA (European International Business Academy), AIMS (Association Internationale
de Management Stratégique), AFM (Association Française du Marketing), he is founder and
Honorary Chairman of Atlas-AFMI (Association Francophone de Management International).
He is also Honorary Chairman of the Conference Olivaint, a non-party political education and
training center.
