Massimiliano (Max) Ciferri Ceretti is an Affiliate Professor at ESCP Business School, where he teaches in the Organization, Management, and Strategy area. He brings more than two decades of C-level executive experience to the classroom, having held senior leadership roles in financial services, pharmaceuticals, and professional services across Europe at GE Capital, Accenture, Pfizer, and Arrow Global.
Massimiliano holds an MPhil from the London School of Economics, where his thesis examined the role of corporate culture versus national managerial profiles, and a DBA from École des Ponts Business School, focused on successful remote multiparty collaboration, conflict resolution, and team deployment frameworks grounded in case-study research.
His academic and consulting work centers on the human and organizational dimensions of transformation, particularly the gap between strategy and execution, which he views as fundamentally a people problem. Drawing on the psychodynamic and group-relations traditions, he explores how individuals, teams, and organizations navigate change and why so many transformation efforts falter not for lack of a sound strategy but for lack of attention to how people experience and enact it.
Beyond ESCP, Massimiliano is active in executive education across international markets, particularly in Europe and the Middle East. He has designed and delivered leadership and program-management curricula for global audiences, including senior leadership development for multinational corporations and mentoring programs for international federations and UN agencies.
Massimiliano's areas of expertise include leadership, program management, operations, cross-cultural management, and post-merger integration. He is fluent in English and Italian and works comfortably across European and international business contexts.
