Jean-Louis Scaringella was Professor of Finance at HEC Paris from 1970 to 1992, where he headed the Grande École programme, the MBA, the Doctorate and the specialised Master’s programmes.
He then served as Chief Executive Officer of the CPA Group (1993–1999) and of ESCP-EAP European School of Management (1999–2006), leading its merger, shaping its European strategy, and developing the campuses in Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin and Turin.
Throughout his academic career, he was a visiting or invited professor at several universities in the Americas, Asia and Europe, and served as Associate Professor at the Jean Monnet Faculty (1993–2001) and at Paris 2 Panthéon-Sorbonne University (2001–2013).
He also held several senior management positions within the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry, notably as Director of Communication (1983–1989) and later as Director General for Studies, Foresight and Innovation (2006–2013).
Jean-Louis Scaringella is currently a lawyer at the Paris Bar, specialising in corporate advisory services. He is a mediator accredited by the Paris Court of Appeal and an arbitrator approved by the Paris Mediation and Arbitration Centre. He served as Director of the Paris Court of Appeal Bar School (EFB) from 2014 to 2016 and acted as an expert for the Paris Bar with the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe.
He is the author or co-author of several books on management and law.
Jean-Louis Scaringella holds a Doctorate in Law, postgraduate degrees in Private Law, Advanced Accounting Studies and Business Law . He is admitted to the Bar (CAPA) and is also a graduate of HEC Paris, IHEDN, and the ITP programme at Harvard Business School . He is a Commander of Legion of Honour ,National Order of Merit and the Order of Academic Palms and has been awarded several national and international decorations and awards.
