Maximilian Weis is an Assistant Professor for Strategy at ESCP Business School (Berlin Campus), which he joined in January 2023. His research focuses on temporality in the context of change, sustainability, and succession in the upper echelons. He is particularly interested in how top executives deal with temporal trade-offs and the tension between short- and long-term goals. Maximilian has presented his research at conferences such as the Academy of Management Annual Meeting, the Strategic Management Society, European Group of Organization Studies, EIASM, and the European Academy of Management as well as leading business schools such as the Copenhagen Business School, Tilburg University and VU Amsterdam. He teaches strategy and organization design across levels using interactive and case-based teaching methods. Before joining ESCP, Maximilian has gained his PhD in Strategic Management from WU Vienna in Austria and worked in strategy and start-up consulting.
