The UNICEF ESCP London society is pleased to present its new online event:

INTERNSHIPS: Recruiter Tips and Q&A Webinar

On 30th January from 9:50 AM (GMT), we will hold a 90 minute virtual conference about internships, including hiring tips from recruiters from different backgrounds. It is an unmissable chance to get insights on how to master internship interviews.

We will have the pleasure of hosting three recruiters:

  • Sandra Costéja, Independent Consultant at EY
  • Joe Griston, Chief of Talent of Arrival
  • Darshana Panchal, Talent Acquisition Specialist at Finder.

Recruiters will share their experience and tips regarding recruitment processes in their respective industries: Consulting (the Big Four) and Tech companies.

It's a great opportunity for you as students to be at the centre of this discussion! We have created a Google Form via which you can share in advance the main topics you're interested in, giving the recruiters the possibility to spend more time on this area and give specific feedback.

The event will be followed by a Q&A session with an ESCP MIM2 student, Matteo de Martis, who will share his job experiences (IB at Unicredit) and tips on making the most of your ESCP experience!

Please sign up via the link to register for the event. Registration fees are £2 and 100% of the funds collected will go to UNICEF.

There are many opportunities for business solutions to create positive impact on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and at the same time generate profit. This conviction stands behind the lab of tomorrow project which is implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). It enables companies from developing countries and Europe to develop innovative products and services that help implement the Agenda 2030 and its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).

The experts for sustainable business models, Prof. Dr. Henning Breuer (UXBerlin – Innovation Consulting) and Prof. Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund (ESCP) have co-authored the manual published by lab of tomorrow. The manual provides all information needed to conduct an innovation process designed to turn sustainability-oriented business opportunities in developing countries into profitable businesses.

The lab of tomorrow approach is a novel and effective way to engage the private sector in delivering lasting solutions to the SDGs. In lab of tomorrow processes, profitable and sustainable products and services are created which contribute to solving concrete challenges in developing and emerging countries. They are jointly developed and brought to market by local and European entrepreneurs supported by development cooperation, public sector, civil society and academia.

The lab of tomorrow manual has been developed for both project planners and project implementers. It enables stakeholders to conduct their own lab of tomorrow innovation process: it serves as a step-by-step guide on how development partners can identify promising challenges based on shared values and enable entrepreneurial actors to jointly develop SDG-oriented business models using the lab of tomorrow approach. Thus, local development challenges are matched with tailored business solutions.
ESCP Professor Dr. Florian Lüdeke-Freund who leads the Chair for Corporate Responsibility, Prof. Dr. Henning Breuer (UXBerlin – Innovation Consulting), and his assistant Kiril Ivanov (UXBerlin) are among the authors.

Find the newest version of the manual and the supporting toolkit with templates and examples on the lab of tomorrow website: https://www.lab-of-tomorrow.com/resources.

The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzche once said: “Those who cannot understand how to put their thoughts on ice should not enter into the heat of debate.” Many people have always wondered how they could possibly win any argument. Although not necessarily an easy task, we know that practice makes perfect.

The brand new, exciting, and exclusive ESCP Debate Club comes with a sole purpose: “To offer students the opportunity to discuss and improve their presentation skills and rhetoric through a series of debates, speeches, and club discussions.”

Cofounded by our own BSc in Management II students Jose Vicente Ramirez Marzullo (Venezuela), and Leonardo Schulze Wierling (Germany/Mexico) at ESCP Madrid Campus the Debate Club has recently opened it´s applications. The cofounders aim to:

Within the framework of the MBA in International Management, ESCP Business School and Cartier are joining forces to offer young professionals a unique learning experience.

Immersion in the life of the Maison

The programme will be the place to develop transversal projects through case studies linked to the activity of the Maison Cartier and will thus contribute to the school's teaching and research policy, in a context of strong managerial, environmental and technological transformation.

The partnership between ESCP and the Maison Cartier will also allow students of the programme to immerse themselves in the life of the Maison, through site visits as well as experience-sharing sessions and career workshops with Cartier employees. The Maison Cartier will also be present at ESCP Business School recruitment forums.

The MBA in International Management offers a 10-month full-time programme, taking place on the students’ choice of two of ESCP’s six European campuses. To sponsor the 2021 class of the MBA in International Management, ESCP has chosen Cartier, a firm with which the school shares the same respect for the values of high standards, open-mindedness and curiosity about the world around them.

A common vision

"We are delighted with this collaboration, which reinforces the creative diversity of our two institutions around common values of excellence, curiosity and openness," says Léon Laulusa, Executive Vice-President, Dean for Academic and International Affairs.

"We are delighted to work with ESCP, with whom we share common values and a common vision. We hope to give young professionals undertaking the MBA access to a rich and quality network, by sharing with them the universe of our House," explains Arnaud Carrez, Marketing and Communication Director of Cartier International, and ESCP alumnus (1997).

"This partnership is an excellent opportunity for our firm and our employees to collaborate with ESCP professors on pedagogical activities and research projects related to our business, and to contribute, at our level, to the preparation of these young professionals for tomorrow's society."

Sorbonne Alliance

Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, ESCP Business School, and Paris III Sorbonne Nouvelle are joining forces in an unprecedented partnership designed to meet the challenge of human and social sciences studies in French universities: Sorbonne Alliance.

An interdisciplinary operational framework

The Paris 1 Panthéon Sorbonne University, ESCP Business School, and the Sorbonne Nouvelle have signed an association agreement called "Sorbonne Alliance". This association will be based on 4 pillars: teaching, research, international development and student and cultural life.
This association, concluded for a renewable period of 5 years, has the ambition to become one of the most important training and research entities in human, social and managerial sciences at the European level.

Sorbonne Alliance proposes to combine the resources of each institution by developing synergies of actions in teaching, training, research and student life. Building scientific communities, strengthening the international mobility of students and disseminating knowledge will be the main objectives of the association.
Through this alliance, the three institutions concerned reaffirm their commitment to a model of interdisciplinary teaching of excellence, resolutely committed to the future and turned towards international influence.

The aim is to pool dynamics and resources in order to develop a transforming digital axis, increase the open dissemination of knowledge, and strengthen international mobility of students, researchers, professors, and staff. Sorbonne Alliance will act as a force to boost visibility and support for scientific dissemination (publications, high-level scientific events), with optimised responses to European and international calls for projects.

"ESCP's academic vision is based on a multicultural and interdisciplinary approach to management, which is the only way to understand the challenges of tomorrow's world and to act on them in a sustainable and positive way. As the oldest business school in the world, we are delighted to associate our 200-year old brand with the Sorbonne Alliance and thus amplify the international influence of our institutions," comments ESCP Dean Frank Bournois.

Key Figures

The Sorbonne Alliance partners represent a unique critical mass in humanities and social sciences studies, with:

  • more than 1,150 researchers and professors;
  • more than 50,000 students;
  • more than 2,000 administrative staff;
  • more than 400 PhDs, and more than 50 post-doctoral degrees (DHDR) delivered per year;
  • a cumulative budget of 440 million euros.

This association strengthens the links between ESCP and the University Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne, founding members of the Panthéon-Sorbonne Doctoral School of Management which brings together the research units and teams that contribute to the training of PhDs and prepare them for professional activity in the field of Management Sciences and management computing.
