Aurélien Saïdi is an affiliate professor at ESCP Europe, in the I&OM department, and a lecturer at the University of Paris Nanterre. He graduated from the Ecole Normale Supérieure and holds a degree in Economics and Accounting and Financial Management. He defended his thesis at the European University Institute of Florence in the field of macroeconomics of self-fulfilling prophecies, after a multi-disciplinary career combining economics and management, history and socio-anthropology. His research interests have long focused on the modelling of expectations, complex dynamics and the foundations of economic policy in sunspot models. They have recently refocused on the history of 20th century economic thought, with a particular emphasis on the notion of "school of thought", the use of which he criticises, favouring that of "community".
He is attached to the EconomiX laboratory of the University of Paris Nanterre. He teaches macroeconomics (economic policy, growth theories, etc.), statistics, non-life insurance and data analysis (scoring methods in banking and insurance). Finally, in the PracTice department (ESCP Europe), he works on the development and introduction of information and communication technologies in teaching methods. His courses in statistics and data analysis represent a first field of application in this field.
He was appointed member of the National Commission for the Registration and Discipline of Judicial Administrators (and judicial representatives since 2016), successively by the Minister of Higher Education and Research in 2011, then by the Minister of Justice in 2016.
After having been responsible for the first year of the Economics-Management degree at the University of Paris Nanterre for three years, he created in 2014 the professional degree "e-Insurance and associated services", of which he became the head. The course was awarded a prize by the University of Insurance in 2016 for a project of pedagogical innovation in the context of initial training.
From 2015 to 2018, he was a member of the jury for the agrégation competition for the secretaire in Economic and Social Sciences, for which he chaired the written test in Economics for four years. He has also been a regular contributor to the ESCP Europe entrance exams (pre-prep exam and direct admissions) since 2010, for the HES and Interview tests.
Since 2017, he has been the vice-president for digital at the University of Paris Nanterre. In this capacity, he is an administrator of the Fondation Internet Nouvelle Génération (FING).
