Nathalie Prime is a Professor of International Business and Sustainability, Marketing
Transition to Sustainability, and Cross-Cultural Management at ESCP Business School, Paris
Campus.
Her teaching and research interests: Responsible Business and Leadership in International
Contexts, Marketing Transition to Sustainability, Personal Transition to Sustainability,
particularly in consumption, and Education for Sustainable Development. Her industry work
involves the mobility, and retailing and distribution sectors, with geographical and cultural
focuses on fast-growing economies in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East.
Her publications include journal articles and international academic communications. The
book co-authored with Jean-Claude Usunier (HEC Lausanne), Marketing international,
Développement des Marchés et Management Multiculturel (2nd edition, Éditions Vuibert,
Paris), was awarded the Prize of the Académie des Sciences Commerciales in 2004. The
enriched second edition of the book, Marketing international, marchés, cultures,
organisations (Éditions Pearson Village Mondial), was published in 2018.
Nathalie Prime was born in Gabon. She has taught in India, Vietnam, Algeria, Morocco,
South Africa, Senegal, Togo, Ivory Coast, Madagascar, Lebanon, Bahrain, Abu Dhabi,
Switzerland, Slovenia, Russia, and other European countries. At ESCP, she is currently the
Scientific Director of two Master 2 Specialization Options (in International Business &
Sustainability; in Responsible Innovation in Africa). She is also the founder and Scientific
Director (with Prof. Caroline Verzat) of the Chaire Responsible Innovation in Africa,
supported by the pan-African groups AXIAN and Attijariwafa Bank.
She holds a Doctorate in Business Administration (International Marketing major)
from Grenoble Université, as well as the French qualification for PhD supervision. She joined
ESCP in 1992 and has managed several international programmes in France and abroad,
including the Joint Management Development Programme in South Africa, the Executive
Specialized Master in Marketing and Sales at CFVG (Centre Franco-Vietnamien
d’Enseignement de la Gestion, in partnership with Paris-Sorbonne Université), and the
Specialized Master in International Project Management in Paris.
