What makes the Myllennium Award unique, and what opportunities does it offer?

The Myllennium Award is a special prize for young Italians between 18 and 30 years old. What makes it unique is that it is not just about financial support but about offering real opportunities for the future. It supports talent across multiple fields, including business, writing, sports, and art. Winners can receive scholarships for master’s programmes, internships with top companies, and opportunities to publish their work. It also helps young professionals expand their network and gain visibility among industry leaders. More than just an award, it is a way to start building a successful career.

Looking back at your journey, what motivated you to apply for the Myllennium Award, and how did you approach the application process?

I applied because I needed financial support to pursue my master’s without putting pressure on my family. At first, I wasn’t sure of myself and never thought I had a real chance of winning. But I told myself, ‘Why not? Let’s try.’ I worked hard on my application, putting myself and my experiences into every detail. A key part of the process was my video submission, and I asked my friends to help me film it. It was a real team effort, and in the end, I was proud of what I had submitted, no matter the outcome.

What do you think made your application stand out? Was there a key element that set you apart?

I think my application stood out because of my unique journey in both study and work. I have followed an interesting path, and I believe the selection committee saw my determination and a strong desire to learn and grow. I stayed true to myself and shared my story honestly, which made a real difference.

Now that you’re fully immersed in your Master’s programme, how has this scholarship impacted your academic and professional growth?

This scholarship has given me a new way of looking at the world. It allowed me to join a programme I wouldn’t have been able to afford otherwise, and it has opened my eyes to so many new topics and concepts. I’m learning not just theories but also how companies and managers make important decisions every day. The challenges in the programme push me to think in new ways and improve myself. More than just financial support, this scholarship has helped me grow both academically and professionally.

2024 Myllennium Award - My Job winners

What has been the most valuable part of your experience at ESCP so far?

The best part of the master’s has been learning from real professionals who share their experiences with us. This programme doesn’t just teach theory but connects us with managers and business leaders who explain how things actually work. Company experiences have also been amazing; seeing how businesses operate from the inside has helped me understand their approach better and consolidate my opinions on certain aspects of the business world, allowing me to develop a more critical and informed perspective.

For those considering applying to the Myllennium Award, what’s one piece of advice you wish you had known before starting the process?

My advice? Don’t doubt yourself before you even try. Many people hesitate to apply because they assume they won’t win, but the truth is, you never know unless you try. Stay true to who you are, believe in your journey, and focus on what makes you unique. Sometimes, all it takes to change your future is to take the first step, so have faith in your skills and go for it.
