Florian M. Artinger is a full professor and Chair of Data Science at ESCP Business School, co-founder of Simply Rational – The Decision Institute, and an associate scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Human Development. He received his PhD from the Max Planck Institute and has worked as a researcher at the University of Warwick, the University of Chicago, and the University of Oxford, among others.
Florian’s work integrates teaching, research, and consulting in the fields of decision-making and artificial intelligence. His research examines when and how human and artificial intelligence can be integrated to improve decision making. This is particularly relevant under uncertainty, when managers and other professionals must act with limited time, limited information, and imperfect models of the world. His work has been published in leading academic journals and has received international awards.
As co-founder and partner of Simply Rational, Florian helps organizations measurably improve their decision processes. Clients include, among others, Morningstar Investment Management, the German Football Association (DFB), and the City of Berlin. He is a keynote speaker at practitioner conferences and has taught managers and financial analysts the art and science of good decision making.
