Francesco is an Assistant Professor in the Finance department at ESCP Business School.

His research investigates the role of financial intermediaries in the economy, with a particular focus on housing markets, modern non-bank lending (e.g., FinTech), and corporate finance.

His articles have been published in top academic journals, including the Journal of Financial Economics, and have received multiple awards, including the ECON JM Best Paper Runner-Up Award by UniCredit Foundation and EEA, the 10th SUERF/UniCredit Foundation Prize, the ERES Best Paper Award, and the FINEST Best Paper Award in Memory of Radha Gopalan.

He completed a PhD in Finance at Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, and was a visiting scholar at Bocconi University, Boston College, and the Bank of England.
