Privacy at work: (re)thinking the boundaries of intimacy and responsibilities within companies

Employee’s private lives have entered the corporate world. The subject is complex and sometimes paradoxical.

The organisation must respect its employees' private lives while offering support policies in areas related to their intimacy—illness, vulnerability, care, etc.

These measures can be levers of attractiveness, retention and employee well-being, provided they are skillfully managed by setting a clear framework and limits.

With Géraldine Galindo, Professor of Human Resources Management, we will look at this phenomenon of visibility and management of intimacy in the workplace. We will look at the benefits and risks, the consequences for management, and the principles that must be followed for a successful intimacy policy.

This white paper is part of a series entitled “Leaders for the Future”, produced by ESCP Business School Executive Education, that addresses the needs of companies and professionals so that they can thrive in the face of challenges and a rapidly shifting business landscape.
