Rubén was born in Buenos Aires where he completed his university studies as an economist at the University of Buenos Aires and a master's degree in finance at the Center for Macroeconomic Studies of Argentina. As a recent graduate, he began his career at the Ministry of Economy working on privatizations in the telecommunications and finance sectors. In the mid-1990s, he settled in Boston where he completed his MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. After graduation, he worked as a strategic consultant at Marakon Associates in the New York and Zurich offices.

He also developed extensive corporate experience in the United States, Canada, Spain, and Brazil in multinational companies such as Telefonica, Nielsen and Huawei Technologies, always in new business areas based on innovative technologies. Later he complemented his education with an international doctorate in strategy and innovation at the Polytechnic University of Madrid, specializing in value creation from open innovation.

He is currently board member in two private renewable energy companies. He also teaches innovation and change management classes at the ESCP Business School Madrid campus and is a Prosci’s Master Instructor in change management.
