ESCP announces new Dean of Faculty and Associate Dean for Research

Prof. Maria Koutsovoulou has been elected Dean of Faculty and Prof. Alessandro Ghio Associate Dean for Research at ESCP

ESCP has announced the election of two new academic leaders, with Associate Professor Maria Koutsovoulou appointed Dean of Faculty and Associate Professor Alessandro Ghio appointed Associate Dean for Research. Both will take up their positions on 1 September 2026 for three-year terms.

Maria Koutsovoulou

Maria Koutsovoulou is Associate Professor of Negotiation, Leadership and Organisational Behaviour at ESCP. She brings experience in academic leadership and executive education, as well as working with organisations navigating complexity and change.

As Dean of Faculty, Professor Koutsovoulou will join ESCP’s Executive Committee and General Management Committee. She will also serve as an ex-officio member of the Board of Directors.

Prof. Ghio has been elected Associate Dean for Research and will join ESCP’s Executive Committee. An Associate Professor of Diversity and Social Accounting, Alessandro is an internationally recognised scholar whose work explores diversity in accounting and corporate social media communication.

Prof. Ghio’s research has appeared in leading academic journals and earned recognition including the Aspen Institute’s “Ideas Worth Teaching” award.

ESCP congratulates Professors Koutsovoulou and Ghio on their election. Their appointments will support ESCP’s continued focus on academic excellence, faculty development and research with international reach and impact.
