ESCP Business School Among the World’s Best in Real Estate Innovation

ESCP Business School has been recognised as one of the four finalists at the esteemed MIPIM Awards 2025, a global benchmark in the real estate sector, in the Best Cultural, Sports & Education Project category. This recognition is attributed to the school’s innovative new campus in Turin, a project that exemplifies architectural excellence, sustainability, and educational innovation.

The MIPIM Awards finalists represent the best projects that are redefining urban landscapes. From mega-developments to cultural hotspots, these projects set new standards in the built environment. ESCP Business School has been shortlisted affirming its role as a leader in the future of educational architecture.

A Campus that Blends Tradition and Innovation

The MIPIM Awards celebrate the most outstanding real estate projects worldwide, evaluating them based on sustainability, urban and social integration, user experience, economic impact, originality, and architectural merit. ESCP Turin Campus, inaugurated in October 2024, has distinguished itself as a model of contemporary educational design, seamlessly blending historical preservation with forward-thinking spatial solutions.
Designed by TRA_Toussaint Robiglio Architetti in collaboration with Artelia Italia, the 8,000-square-metre campus on Via Doria reimagines a historic building, owned by BNL BNP Paribas, into a vibrant learning environment. The project, realised with the interior expertise of G*AA Architetti and Subhash Mukerjee Studio alongside Conrotto Progetti, reflects ESCP’s commitment to creating dynamic, inclusive, and sustainable spaces that foster student engagement and urban connectivity.

We are honoured to be among the four finalists of the prestigious MIPIM Awards 2025 with our new campus. This recognition celebrates not only our commitment to educational innovation but also to creating sustainable, inclusive, and cutting-edge learning spaces. Our campus embodies a vision that combines tradition and innovation, placing students’ experiences and their connection with the city at the core. Being internationally recognised in such a prestigious setting confirms the value of our project and its ability to redefine the future of educational architecture.

Dean of ESCP Turin Campus

At the heart of the project is the concept of an urban vertical campus, an innovative approach that addresses the challenges of urban density while enhancing the interaction between education and community life. Central to this vision is the 500-square-metre covered square, a public space that fosters engagement between students, faculty, and the wider community. The transformation also includes a redeveloped internal courtyard, integrating a contemporary structure for large lecture halls and semi-circular classrooms, while preserving the historical façades of the 19th-century building.

A Benchmark for Sustainability and Architectural Excellence

Be part of a transformative experience that aligns with our mission to empower the careers of ESCP students. The 2025 ESCP Turin Cross-Industry Career Fair offers a dynamic space to collaborate, inspire, and recruit brilliant minds in business. The architectural design features a striking interplay between heritage and modernity, with a distinctive bronze-toned metal cladding that pays homage to Turin’s architectural masters, Guarini and Mollino. This blend of conservation and innovation creates a landmark that respects its historic surroundings while embracing contemporary design principles.
Beyond its architectural significance, the new ESCP Turin campus serves as a sustainability benchmark. Key initiatives include the installation of photovoltaic (170 sqm) and solar thermal panels (50 sqm), the use of high-insulation materials, and the adoption of advanced energy management systems to optimise efficiency and comfort. These measures ensure that the campus not only meets the highest environmental standards but also sets a precedent for future educational developments.

Reusing a prestigious building in the historic centre means regenerating a part of the city, reactivating untapped potential, and giving the past’s heritage a future. We achieved this by introducing a new volume within the courtyard, meeting all the requirements of an international top-tier university campus for 1,500 students from around the world. We wrapped it in a veil of metallic waves, framed by the restored 19th-century façades. The result is a hybrid architecture, a successful fusion of conservation and innovation, seamlessly integrated into the urban landscape as an icon of radical yet mindful change.
