Jean-Philippe Bouilloud is a professor in the Management Department at ESCP Business School Paris campus. He primarily teaches sociology of organizations, management, and sociology of social sciences. He is a member of the LCSP laboratory (University of Paris Cité - UPC), the Labex Hastec, and vice-president of the RISC (International Network of Clinical Sociology). He is also a lecturer at the UPC.
His domains of expertise and main publications are in the field of sociology of scientific knowledge, and sociology of work. He has published numerous works, including Entre l’enclume et le marteau (Between the Hammer and the Anvil, Seuil, 2012, Winner of the Best Book on Work Award, 2013), La créativité au travail (Creativity at Work, co-edited with G. Amado, D. Lhuilier, and A.-L. Ulmann, Erès, 2017), Pouvoir faire un beau travail – Une revendication professionnelle (Being Able to do a Good Job – A Professional Demand, Erès, 2023), as well as many articles in journals such as International Sociology, Philosophy of Social Sciences, Journal of Business Ethics, Organization Studies, M@n@gement, Communication, Revue Française de Gestion, and Nouvelle Revue Internationale de Psychosociologie, among others.
He has worked with numerous organizations on organizational and managerial issues, including the City of Paris, 3M, SNCF, the Dijon Rectorate, the Caen Rectorate, and the Ministry of Culture and Communication.
Professor Bouilloud is a graduate of HEC and holds a Ph.D. in sociology. He also has a habilitation to supervise research (HDR). He joined ESCP Business School in 1990 after several years in the banking and consulting industries.
