From stronger engagement to a new audit phase, ESCP continues its path towards full digital accessibility

Since launching the EqualWeb tool in late 2024, ESCP Business School has continued to strengthen its commitment to digital accessibility. What began as an important first step towards a more inclusive online experience has now become a broader, long-term effort to make ESCP’s digital environments more accessible for all.

Supported by the ESCP Foundation and made possible thanks to the generosity of alumnus Thibault Basquin, this initiative reflects our belief that inclusion must be built into every experience, including the digital one.

A commitment to inclusive digital experiences

EqualWeb is integrated into ESCP’s public website and is also available on our intranet CampusLife, extending accessibility features across key digital environments used by our community. Students, academic staff, administrative personnel and website visitors can all benefit from tools designed to support a more inclusive online experience.

An innovative technological solution, EqualWeb adapts a website to the specific needs of its users. With just a few clicks, it offers a range of accessibility features, including text enlargement, voice navigation and contrast adjustments for visually impaired users. These features help create a smoother and more comfortable browsing experience for all.

Web accessibility is essential to ensuring that individuals with visual, auditory, motor or cognitive impairments can interact more easily with websites and online platforms. At ESCP, we are committed to offering every individual, regardless of their condition, a seamless and inclusive digital experience.

Growing engagement, growing impact

Since its launch, use of the accessibility widget has increased by 207%, showing strong and growing engagement. This rise demonstrates that accessibility tools are meeting a real need and that more users are actively engaging with them to personalise their online experience.

The data also shows that accessibility is not a marginal issue. Since launch, the widget has supported 248,278 users, underlining the scale of its reach across the ESCP community and beyond. More importantly, this progress reinforces a simple truth: accessibility improves the digital experience for users with visible and invisible disabilities, while making online environments more inclusive for everyone. Today, nearly 1.3 billion people worldwide live with a disability, yet more than 95%* of websites present detected accessibility barriers.

A second phase on the road to full accessibility

Previously, in partnership with EqualWeb, ESCP Business School obtained an Accessibility Certificate confirming that our website meets international accessibility standards.

ESCP has now entered a new phase of its work with EqualWeb. Following the initial deployment of the accessibility widget, the project has moved into a managed compliance phase centred on deeper audit work, targeted improvements and continuous monitoring.

This phase provides a clear roadmap for the next enhancements as ESCP moves towards its goal of 100% digital accessibility. With an accessibility score of 91.35%, escp.eu has already made strong progress, while the latest audit helps identify the final improvements needed to move closer still.

Accessibility is a continuous process rather than a one-off intervention. It depends on sustained attention, practical action and a clear commitment to removing barriers over time. By building on these findings, ESCP continues to strengthen the digital experience it offers every user.

Accessibility as a shared responsibility

Digital accessibility is about more than compliance. It is about ensuring that every student, staff member, alumnus, candidate and visitor can access information, services and opportunities with confidence. It is one more way we put our values into practice and work towards a community in which everyone can take part fully.

We are proud of the progress made since late 2024, and we know there is more to do. This second phase marks an important milestone on ESCP’s road towards full digital accessibility.
