Appointment Michael Haenlein named to the AMA’s Executive Committee

Professor Michael Haenlein will serve as one of its four members beginning July 2024. 

The American Marketing Association announced that Michael Haenlein, who was already one of the 12 members of its Academic Council, will join its Executive Committee as President Elect-Designate. “I am proud and honored to join the Executive Committee,” Michael Haenlein commented. “I look forward to working with such a group of amazing people.”

Michael Haenlein has published over 50 articles in academic and practitioner-oriented journals, counts among the top 30 most cited marketing academics worldwide based on Google Scholar, made it into the Who’s Who of influential researchers in 2020, and received the 2021 Jan-Benedict Steenkamp Award for long-term impact as well as several Best Paper awards (including one from the International Journal of Research in Marketing last year).

An already long list of achievements

He just got elected as the Vice President, Publications of the European Marketing Academy (EMAC), the main association of Marketing academics in Europe, and is also part of the editorial or advisory boards of the Journal of Marketing, the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science (JAMS), the International Journal of Research in Marketing (IJRM), as well as the Journal of Retailing and California Management Review.

The AMA strives to be the most relevant force and voice shaping marketing around the world, an essential community for marketers. The AMA Academic Council is a 12-member council that represents the diversity of scholarly interests in managerial, behavioral, modeling, and public policy perspectives with attention to strategic marketing implications.
