Would you believe that we, Lorenzo Manganelli, Wenxi Jiang, Lina Bghiel, Camille Kneip, Julie Blondel and Franziska Oschmann flew all the way to New York and had the time of our life meeting people from all around the globe?

At the beginning of April, the Call ON’U society located in Madrid had the honor to represent Luxembourg in the National Model United Nation (NMUN) conference in New York City. It has been an amazing journey and life experience in all possible ways.

As delegates representing different countries, students participated in a simulation of the United Nations attempting to come together and solve pressing real-world issues. During the five days, we debated and negotiated on topics ranging from sustainable and economic growth to women’s rights. One experience that particularly seared into our memories was the meeting and discussions with Ukrainian students, now our friends, who experienced the war first-hand. It truly allowed us to understand that NOW is the time to take actions and initiatives - together -.

Call ON´U

All in all, it was an amazing experience participating in the NMUN, where we decided to step outside of our comfort zone and do what we were most hesitant and nervous to do. Hard work paid off when we received an Honorable Mention Delegation Award from the NMUN Directorate. While improving our negotiation and public speaking skills, the interaction and cooperation with international contemporaries opened our minds and created life-long friendships

We also want to thank ESCP Business School for all the support throughout the year, and we are already looking forward to our next conference. In the meantime, we recommend you all to take part in such an inspiring, unforgettable, and rewarding experience. It will definitely change your life!
