Aurélien Acquier (PhD, HDR : French habilitation for doctoral supervision) is Full Professor in the Department of Sustainability.
His research explores the relationships between organisations and natural and social systems. He has published over 100 articles and books on the history of Corporate Social Responsibility, the Circular Economy, the Sharing Economy, and the interactions between businesses and planetary boundaries. His work has been published in journals such as Business & Society, Organization Studies, Journal of Business Ethics, Revue Française de Gestion, Journal of Supply Chain Management, and Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility.
He is the Scientific Director of the ESCP Business School Sustainability Institute, whose mission is to support and promote high-impact academic research among a wide range of stakeholders, including businesses, public institutions, civil society organisations, and students.
At ESCP Business School, he was the first Associate Dean for Ecological Transition, leading the reform of teaching on planetary boundaries across various programmes (Grande École and Executive MBA) and the creation of the academic Department of Sustainability.
A graduate of ESSEC and holder of a Master’s degree in Management and Organisational Dynamics (Paris Nanterre University, ESCP Business School, École des Mines de Paris, École Polytechnique and ESSEC), he holds a PhD from École des Mines – PSL and is accredited to supervise doctoral research at IAE – Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne.
