"The ESCP community has just lost one of its guiding lights. With the passing of Francis-Charles Lang-Amiot, a great voice has been silenced, but above all, he leaves behind a trail of light.

Francis was not merely a man of numbers and finance. While he excelled at the highest levels of the most prestigious international institutions, he above all embodied what is most noble about our school: the union of rigorous academic excellence and profound humanism.

By entrusting us with a historic donation of one million euros, he was not merely making a financial gesture; he was charting a course, that of visionary philanthropy. He believed in youth, in knowledge, and in the boldness to pass it on.

Beyond the Ph.D. in economics and the respected investment banker, we will remember the man with a big heart, whose loyalty to his alma mater remained unwavering throughout the decades. Francis Lang-Amiot will remain for all of us that model of intellectual elegance and generosity of spirit that defines the ESCP spirit.

"Francis-Charles Lang-Amiot embodied great class, keen insight, and profound humanity. Throughout his remarkable life, he successfully combined high intellectual standards with a deep commitment to serving others. As an alumnus of ESCP, his Grande École, he remained deeply loyal to its values of openness, responsibility, and international vision.
In my conversations with him, I was always struck by the accuracy of his judgment, the elegance of his thinking, and the sincere attention he paid to others. A great European and a great champion of France’s influence, particularly in the United Kingdom, he was also a tremendous support to younger generations, to whom he devoted constant and generous attention.
For all those who had the privilege of knowing him, he remains the model of a truly great man, a great leader, and a great elder statesman. Many of us are saddened today."
