ESCP alumnus returns to Berlin Campus to discuss AI and Sustainability

ESCP Berlin Campus’ Career Development team recently organized an event titled “The Green and Digital Twin Transition —Can AI Help Solve the Climate Crisis?”

The event featured Johannes Kirnberger, an ESCP Bachelor in Management alumnus who currently works as an AI and Sustainability policy advisor for the OECD.

During the session, Kirnberger presented frameworks for understanding sustainability, provided an overview of global AI policy and its governing bodies, and discussed the sustainability implications of AI. The session also featured an interactive group activity, and afterwards, Kirnberger shared more about his professional journey and advice for a career path with non-governmental organizations.

Kirnberger, a member of the first graduating class of Bachelor students, had concentrations on Entrepreneurship and Energy at ESCP, and went on to obtain Master degrees at Sciences Po in Paris and Columbia University in New York City. He has worked at other NGOs such as the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the Global Partnership on Artificial Intelligence (GPAI).
