Dr. Daniel Pesch holds a DPhil in Financial Economics from Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, where his thesis explored asset pricing and rationality. He also completed an MSc in Financial Economics at Oxford and a BSc in Business Administration at WHU – Otto Beisheim School of Management.

Daniel's teaching career began at Magdalen College, Oxford, where he held undergraduate tutorials in microeconomics for the PPE programme, and continued at Saïd Business School, where he lectured on machine learning for the MBA programme and served as teaching assistant across several MBA and MFE courses. Since 2019, he has lectured at ESCP Business School, teaching Machine Learning & Artificial Intelligence as part of the Master in Management and leading a Tech Deep Dive on Machine Learning within the Executive Master in Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurial Leadership. His research background includes a role as Researcher and Associate Member at the Oxford-Man Institute of Quantitative Finance, where he built high-frequency volatility metrics.

Alongside academia, Daniel has built a substantial track record as a technology entrepreneur and executive. He founded Pesch Software GmbH in 2013, leading a team of up to 14 engineers, designers, and project managers on client software projects, and has since conducted technical due diligence for both buyers and sellers in software M&A. He served as Chief Technology Officer at Küchenheld, where he built out product and technology teams and developed machine learning models for revenue estimation and customer segmentation, and co-founded Seven Lanes as Chief Technology Officer. Most recently, as Managing Director and CTO of Erste Hausverwaltung, he scaled the company to more than three million in annual recurring revenue, before the company was acquired by Odevo (backed by CVC and Fidelio) in 2024 for an undisclosed amount.

Daniel combines rigorous academic training with hands-on experience building and scaling technology companies.
